About Me

About Me
Gillian Curry is a Virginia Beach–based artist whose work blends softness, spirit, and imagination. She holds an Associate of Arts in Studio Arts from Tidewater Community College, where she explored a range of mediums — but found her deepest connection through gouache, watercolor, and digital painting.
Her creative journey began as a makeup artist, where transformation and color first became a language of expression. That early foundation eventually led to her training in Reiki and spiritual healing, which now infuse her process. Gillian approaches art as a form of meditation — often entering deep, intuitive states that allow energy to guide the imagery and emotion of each piece.
Her collections, Starborne and Wild Honey, reflect the dual nature of her practice: the abstract and cosmic alongside the sweet, childlike, and joy-filled. Through this duality, she invites others to reconnect with their own inner child and to feel seen, softened, and inspired.
Her mission is simple: to help people bring their ideas to life and to create art that sparks joy, connection, and wonder.

Artist Statement
My work lives in the space between dreams and waking — where memory, softness, and spirit intertwine. I create with intuition first, letting color, texture, and emotion guide me before meaning catches up.
Inspired by femininity in all its forms — gentle, wild, sacred, and raw — I use layered hues, flowing forms, and delicate chaos to explore what can’t always be said in words. Each piece is a kind of visual prayer or portal: an invitation to pause, feel, and drift inward.
My practice moves in dualities: Starborne reflects my more abstract, intuitive side — cosmic, fluid, and emotionally untethered — while Wild Honey captures something sweeter and more grounded, a playful softness full of color and sun-warm joy. Both are different expressions of the same inner world: sometimes celestial and quiet, sometimes loud with laughter and light.
